BUSAN ASIAN GAMES ATHLETIC VILLAGE
Created originally as housing for athletes competing in the 2002 Asian Games, this 2.9 million SF complex was designed so that it could later be converted to condominiums. Honoring the ocean nearby, the four central towers feature "lighthouses" on top. Other buildings have a wave effect, and the structures overall are arranged in an elliptical shape reminiscent of the Olympic rings. The complex contains 2,290 units, accommodating nearly 9,000 people, and also includes retail shops, a sports center, and a community center.
